20 Years and Still Fighting!

space

In 1992, before there was a Hurricane Katrina, Terrorist attacks and the global economic crisis, a couple of inner city leaders, armed with an incredible faith and a handful of snacks, launched into a ministry that would impact thousands upon thousands of inner city children and their families.  What was known as Outreach Kids Club, has blossomed into the premiere inner city ministry that is The Urban Restoration.  Times may have change but our plan to transform lives and build on the foundation of faith as the cornerstone of a productive community remains true.   We are still engaged in the eternal fight to change lives and we know that with friends and partners fighting with us, we will win!  In honor of our 20th year in ministry we are sponsoring Super Brawl 3 on February 25.  Every ticket sold goes to support the ongoing fight to save lives and transform urban communities!  Call today to reserve your tickets to the fight!  980-355-4384

Camp Courageous

Although we have experienced a mild winter thus far, we have already set our focus on the sights and sounds of summer.  Swimming pools, roller coasters, and over night camp will soon fill our time as we host 60 at risk children for our annual summer camp experience;  Camp Courageous.  Camp Courageous is a bible- based literacy camp, that helps children build their self confidence and maintain their academic bearings while making new friends and having a whole lot of fun.   Our goal this year is to scholarship 60 campers who come from high poverty communities in west Charlotte.  Sponsoring a kid for camp is a great way to build a better community and if you would like to become a community builder, go online today to make your donation to send a kid to camp!

Food For Thought

Estimates show that more than 80,000 children and families in our community are in need of supplemental food and groceries every month.  Last year our food pantry, God’s Outreach, provided over 13,000 bags of groceries to some of those families.  As the nationwide economic crisis continues we are poised to serve more families than ever before.  If you, your church or business would like to host a food drive to feed the poor, Contact our Outreach Director, John Dorsey at 704-576-8995 or godsoutreach@msn.com
